He found meditation, and it's helped him be less yanked around by his emotions. -------------- About 10% Happier, the podcast: In his top-ranking podcast, Dan talks with smart people about whether there's anything beyond 10%. Basically, here's what the podcast is obsessed with: Can you be an ambitious person and still strive for enlightenment (whatever that means)? -------------- If you’re enjoying the app, please (re)post a review. • Best gift to myself

    By ebinsm
I downloaded 10% Happier around 3am one night after a few weeks of insomnia. The first meditation I found put me back to sleep. Now I wake each morning looking forward to a new meditation. I appreciate thinking about how each topic applies to my practice and how each resonates throughout my day. I’m much more in tune with my physical reactions to emotional states. I have a long way to go and am enjoying the journey.
  • This app never fails to improve my life and my mood.

After several tries with apps... Headspace (which granted helped me) Calm (Nice running water sounds to sleep too) Breethe (I don’t even remember) I found 10% happier... for skeptics. I am not a skeptic... but the way Dan approaches meditation... makes me laugh. I LOVE the genuineness of him... and through him, he has found all these teachers that are real. No frills... no fake calming voices or stories... real meditation teachers with lifetimes behind them of wisdom. And Dan... I admire him so much... because on a spiritual level... he is being a REAL REPORTER. The way reporters are supposed to report... not on an agenda, but on something so worthwhile to the human family... and he genuinely loves and investigates this... and through him I/we learn... and what a service. In just a few weeks I have noticed a difference in my brain. Less reactive. More able to just notice moments... in short... I’m happier. I love doing a meditation 3 times a day. I’m not saying this is my only reason for being happier. But its probably just 10% of my total happier state lately. Worth the money? Yes. It was worth it from the first moment when Joseph Goldstein changed my life and mind in his interviews. Very thankful and impressed with the content and genuineness. It makes me laugh... and learn... and be calm and stable.
  • This makes things better

Meditation, when guided is easy. And meditation just makes things better. I have a bunch of favorite go-to’s here, that have increased my level of contentment in my work and personal life. I’d say that I am 10% happier, and pretty aware.
  • Total waste, extremely dissatisfied

Didn’t realize I purchased this app by just looking at it. Not worth the monthly fee or the $99 yearly I was tricked into buying.
  • Best Meditation App

    By wale912
I’ve tried a number of meditation apps, and this is my favorite one for a few reasons: - Diverse instructors. A lot of other apps only have one narrator. This one not only puts a name and face to its voiceovers, but does interviews with each one, so you can really try to see which ones you find most credible and connect with. - Realistic expectations. The app isn’t called 100% Happier. And the instructors seem to understand that and stay grounded in reality. - Many guided audios not only of a broad range of topics, but also by length - Not just focused on “beginners” who have never meditated before. There’s stuff for moving beyond “focusing on your breath” Cons: - App crashes sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️ - UI isn’t pretty as it often is in other meditation apps

  • My Go-To app

    By Txstar2k
Love this app. It has been instrumental to help me increase mindfulness. I really enjoy this discussions and reflections from meditation guides. I just wish I could download some of my favorite meditation guides to listen to when cell or WiFi is not available.
  • Disappointed that there is not a money price.

I am a retired Occupational therapist and I am pleased with your perspectives teaching some neurology with physiology psychology. Here comes the problem. I suffered a physical trauma with chronic pain and PTSD on the job. A dog maul. There are plenty of people like me that can barely make it month to month and have hard time paying for enough health services. Please think about a restructuring of your payment structure. I would purchase but not a an anual price.
