  • Worst app on my phone

This is the only app on my phone which I must repeatedly force-quit (no pun intended) multiple times per day. And now they’ve given it the horrific, gaudy, amateurish interface from Topps’ sports apps. There is zero chance this app would still be commercially viable (if it is) were it not for the Star Wars license. My only hope is Topps sells off its digital business to someone who knows how to develop apps and actually cares about Star Wars.
  • Bumping up rating

I’m changing my rating to 4/5. There’s a lot of variety being offered right now for all price levels from free credits to those who spend $100’s. I’ve purchased some daily deals myself the past couple weeks. Honestly my only complaint is that Fan Frenzy- hate to sound like a broken record but all you need to do is have the $5 price point offer a little more than the daily deal and put the $100 at at least 25,000 crystals. The crystals are an arbitrary currency created for in app spending. The pack odds can give and take. Extra crystals so people can pull an extra pack or two shouldn’t be a big deal. Overall I must say Topps has listened to the community of late in a variety of ways so ty. Fan frenzy 4.99 = 1,225 crystals Daily deal 4.99= 1,200 crystals Beyond insulting plus reinforced why I deleted the app. Only downloaded again so I could look at the cards I payed for with my hard earned cash. Officially deleted app after 1 full year. Too expensive just to chase one full set. Not saying I can’t afford to- just can’t justify the cost as per my weekly budget for jpegs. Not fun. Too much to mention. Don’t even get me started on odds with crystals (money). I fully understand the coin flip analogy on odds. When it takes 11 cracks on a 1:5 at 225 crystals a pack- I can’t justify the cost. Or that time it took 35 cracks on a 1:15 at 95 crystals- I’m done.
  • It went way downhill

I started back in 2015 with this game. It was fun collecting cards and doing trades and hunting for the elusive low count card. Then some greedy suit came up with the idea for gems. While they give you 25000 credits a day, they have become almost useless as everything is bought with gems. To get gems, you have to pay. I have deleted the game. Every now and then, I’ll upload it back to see if any good changes have come. So far, not so good. I always end up deleting it after a day or two. It used to be fun, now it acts as if you are an ATM.

There are TOO many times where any sort of intriguing/ unique/ fun cards are locked behind money which is causing more and more of the players to leave. You could easily place variants of those types of cards that are both available via crystals or credits to solve this issue. & if @TOPPE would release series frequently. The players who want everything would still HAVE to spend their money to get everything, but if you lock everything worth you being on the app for behind a paywall then you are losing many of your players. Less player/ Less people talking about the app = less chance of making money. With more of a healthy balance like I’ve stated above for ppl who want to spend all of their money digitally & those who want to have fun in a competitive free to play trading game, I feel this app would thrive! & make @TOPPS even more money. When a game is based on trading and there are so few ppl to trade with it gets quite boring...
  • Great content, truly awful software

Slow servers, crashy app. A really miserable user experience just barely made bearable by the contents. If you’re wondering why Apple still bothers to allow apps to be force quit in iOS, this is it.
  • Is fun

This is a fun app. Been using forever two years. It was nice family fun with my son but he got turned off when many packs started requiring paid crystals as the only way to get them. There are often free cards more frequently now though which is nice. App crashes constantly on my iPod Touch but works fine on my iPhone.
  • Need way to win diamonds added

Fun app but couldn’t give five star rating. Need to add a way to win diamonds. I already have plenty of tickets. The best card purchases require diamonds but there is no way to get them without purchasing them.
  • Fake cards for real money...

What you are buying is basically a digital representation of a card that you can never get or hold in your hand. They can take these away at any time they can close this app at any time without any compensation to you or anyone else. I don’t understand why they don’t offer a physical card future. They have tons of these old Star Wars cards that they produced in the 70s that they could get rid of. Upper deck offers this online with a chance to receive a card in the mail now that’s a great idea Topps think about doing that because for me I’d actually spend more money for those. In addition you basically have one card with 100 different variations now that’s really funny isn’t it? So many complicated sets rules and qualifications I can’t tell you how many things I’ve missed because I can’t understand what they’re trying to do or find the cards required for the set. I don’t know if there’s any hope for this they really run off the rails with all the choices and complicated sets just no fun for me anymore.

Update Sept 2018. I am adding 1-star because Topps Admin is making efforts to interact with the players to improve the app. Also, I joined a StarWars Trading Card chatroom. Isn’t that the ultimate of nerdiness? And i made friends. The app experience runs so much more smoothly when you have a Sith or Jedi Master to guide you. July 2018. I spent $100 to collect teal cards and then Topps released 144 more teal variants. This app is not for kids unless they have rich parents. Topps has made a serious effort to offer free packs (credit packs in the app). In retrospect, I should have hit every comic book shop in the tri-state area and BOUGHT the actual vintage StarWars cards! On the plus side, I am developing a killer instinct for trading commodities.

When this app first started you got all kinds of opportunity to spend credits. Once they started charging for crystals getting cards for credits has gone to almost nothing. There are 52 card sites for crystals and only 11 for spending credits. Not only are there less cards for credits they are charging more credits for cards e.g. 10,000 and 25,000! They have taken the fun out of it in place of greed $$$$$!
