Drops is game-changing approach to language learning - quite literally. We took ‘boring’ out of vocabulary learning! Only 5 minutes a day: Drops limits your learning time to 5 minutes. This might sound crazy but works like charm. Learning a new language might feel overwhelming but by chunking down into 5-minute sprints, the barrier of entry is nonexistent. No excuses: you ALWAYS have 5 minutes! The time constraint induces ridiculous focus which further enhances the effectiveness of memorization. 100% Visual learning: Every single word is beautifully illustrated. Your eyes will appreciate the delicious pictures and your mind will store the new memories more efficiently: you won’t have use the word of your native language but connect the new words to the illustration of the meaning. Quicker, better and more fun! :) Effortless practice: We took a good look at why games are so fun and addictive and injected the essence into Drops to create not just a “gamified” learning app but a proper game experience! It is freakishly immersive but in this case you don’t waste your time playing instead you build a valuable asset: knowledge of a new language. Swipe based: We believe in quick pace and keyboard typing is anything but fast. Say hello to rapid swipes and taps! You’ll need those extra seconds to get the most out of your 5 minutes ;) Strategic vocabulary selection: The “what” is perhaps more important than “how”. We handpicked 1700+ practical words in 100 topics that you’ll actually use when you let’s say travel to a country where your new language is spoken. Forge learning habit: Drops wants to convert you into a learning addict. No matter how effective your learning tool is, if you don’t use it on a daily basis, it doesn’t really matter. Drops tricks your mind and you’ll be better for it! I’m sure you’ll love Drops as much as we enjoyed making it. If so, please leave us a review so we can make Drops even better! :) p.s.: We take full responsibility for the potential addiction to learning. ----------------- Keep tuned as even more languages are in the pipe! • Incredible app, perfect in every way except for the price

The title says it all. This app is by far the best I’ve seen for learning new languages. It’s beautiful, fun, and effective. Sadly, as perfect as it is, the price is beyond appropriate. Looks like I’ll be sticking with my 5 minutes free once every 10 hours. -_-
  • Like it so far, first time trying it

I love the fact that there is repetition. It makes it easy to remember how to say the words you just learned. I hope there is a option to explain.
  • Great...!

Just wish there were writing exercises for Japanese specifically. It would definitely make this app stand out more compared to others that teach Japanese.
  • Great materials, but doesn’t give time

I love using this app, but you only get 5 minutes every 10 hours unless you pay. I completely understand that they have to make money to keep the app going. I decided to try the 3-day free trial to see if it was going to be worth the money to buy more time. I did the trial for unlimited time for 1 language. The only thing I got from the trial was 15 extra minutes on the first day, which was irritating. Even so, I have a few friends who are also learning the language so I sent them my download link. When you invite friends you are supposed to receive a free 20 minutes. I was sitting in the room with my friends when they downloaded it from the link I sent them and I never got a free 20 minutes. As a result, I will never pay for this app considering they don’t honor their free services. It just makes their program seem untrustworthy.

Like the vocabulary building. I like that the app reinforces new concepts frequently and that it uses different ways to teach the concept (spelling, crossword, picture matching, true/false recognition, etc.). Just started using the app but so far it is very enjoyable.
  • Phonetic alphabet in Cantonese Confusing

I’ve practiced only a few days and the phonetic alphabet in Cantonese is confusing! I wish someone would forget the ideology between mainland China’s pinyin & Cantonese’s phonetic alphabet system and use one system to learn both dialects, preferably use pinyin and add 4 or however many more tones to the system. For example, pinyin for country is “guo” but in Cantonese, it’s “gu.” Or better yet, use a more universal phonetic system. Perhaps, the current one is based on a European system that I’m not familiar with. And to make matters worse I have to learn how to spell in Cantonese phonetic system for the quizzes. The phonetic system & spelling makes no sense to me. I can see myself giving up this app in a week.
