  • Noom coach

    It’s awesome
  • So far, no

    By Mariposacafe
I’ve had noom now for a week and in that time my step count has not recorded even close to correct and I can’t get either tech support or coach to fix the problem, so the app keeps lowering my step goal each day as if I’m not meeting goals! The coach articles each day are things you already know. Group participation is low. The goal specialist I was assigned didn’t get back with me as promised. So basically I’m being asked to pay big bucks to simply record my food diary when I can do that for free elsewhere. Noom has got to step up its game to at least do what it promises, correct things that don’t work like step counting (and yes I’ve synced it correctly ad nauseam),get some more than remedial articles/discussions and get the goal specialist involved rather than absent. Oh yeah, and answer emails when tech issues are reported - what others have said about lack of tech support I’m finding true so far. I wish I could report differently.
  • Designed as a 6-8 week course, not a whole 12 weeks as suggested.

I REALLY liked this at first. But somewhere around week 6 or 7 of my (paid) 12 week course, the content takes a dive. It went from good, interactive and relatable articles and quizzes, to two flat paragraphs a day. The tone or “voice” of the articles changed too. The program starts by telling you they will have you weigh every day to help “scale anxiety”. True at first, but in the 6-7 week spot I’m in it’s asked me ONCE. It does NOT keep track of micros. In week 7 in fact, I have not read about them yet. I know that eventually I’ll get to the very bland article (if you scroll backwards in the app, past your start date, the articles are there day by day since the program is a never ending circle of articles). I read the article on micros when I scrolled too far back and it was nothing most people don’t know and you don’t utilize the knowledge. I read a few more articles that will be in my future and they maintain the flat, useless format. The groups are okay. Only a handful of peers will be at your exact week, so if you’re prompted to share something with your group, they might not know what you’re talking about because they haven’t made it there yet. The coaches do try, but can’t make up for fizzling content. I also think Noom could stand to hire a copy editor. It would make the articles seem a little more credible and professional if they were free from grammar/spelling errors.
  • Only the first month was good

    By mcadl
The first month was incredible, engaging, fun, motivating and everything they promise when they're trying to get you to sign up and pay their high fees. Then without warning from week 5 everything changed and it is now just plain, boring, borderline condescending. It all comes down to one thing: transparency. If that first month was the new format they claim to be "trying out" why not tell that to people? I understand they are rushing to update the whole content but in the meantime I'm still paying for something which is not exactly what I was sold. I'm frustrated and demotivated, and the email I send to Noom support a week ago is still unanswered.
  • Extremely disappointed

    By 123kffidoskv
I’ve never written a review but had to express my disappointment with this app as a warning. I signed up for the free trial, accidentally missed the deadline to cancel by 2 days and was told i couldn’t be refunded. Since i was going to be paying $100 for two months I thought I might as well try it out. So far it’s been a month and a half and I haven’t felt benefited at the least. Generic, sporadic exchanges on chat with my coach, missing group feature and just overall a confusing situation. All in all I’m paying this much to log in my meals which I can easily do through other free apps.
  • Learn why other diets didn’t work

    By DeafMovieLover
Started Noom and have not had a dramatic weight loss - just slow steady weight coming off with ups and downs. But here’s where Noom is different - my entire life is changing. I miss exercise when I don’t do it. My whole family is more active. I’m realizing how important friendships are for being healthy. I have no anxiety about scales. I see why I overeat and can work on changing patterns. That’s where other diets failed me and why it was easy to quit. Even if I quit Noom today, I doubt I’d go backward. I’ve had ups and downs but haven’t quit yet, when I have always given up before. Take a chance on Noom. It’s so worth it. You are worth it.
  • Facebook login

Since the last update, I’ve been unable to login with my Facebook account 🙁
  • Lacking, especially for the $$

    By Odd-Ree
I did the free trial for a week. The app is cool, I like the behavioral cognitive therapy bit but the “coach” is totally a bot and the meal tracking was seriously lacking. I cancelled after 5 days. The free version of MyFitnessPal is much more useful compared to this app charging $50 a month or something ridiculous. And I absolutely hate the negative marketing they do on Instagram. Have a positive message if you’re promoting better health; don’t attack another diet (weight watchers) that has helped some people.
  • Love This App!

    By Disappointed I C
I love my Noom Coach app! It covers the essentials to keep me honest and on track! And it educates and challenges me along the way! My only concern is for daily weigh ins. The fluctuation makes me crazy!
  • Just a calorie counter

    By Emily 123
Coach rarely replied. I was never assigned a group. So this is just a calorie counter app. And MyFitnessPal works better.
