The Neptunia & Friends app brings the Gamindustri Goddesses right to your iOS phone! Not only is this a full alarm clock app to wake you up for any occasion, but also a place where you can dress up and chat with the Goddesses in their kawaii costumes, play a mini-game, and raise the Goddesses’ Love Love Gauge! Chat with your favorite Goddess to receive more Love Love Gauge points - the higher the gauge, the more intimate your chats will get. Shake up your phone and see what kind of reaction your Goddess will display! Maybe you'll even get a kiss...?

I must say, when I first found out about this app, I was highly disappointed. The DLC and micro-transactions were borderline predatory, and so little was available as a free-to-play that there was little reason to get the app unless you were a diehard Neptunia fan. It was well deserving of the many low scores - a wasted opportunity. Thankfully, that was years ago. Today, the app is far more worth a download. Not only are the other two Goddesses (Blanc and Vert) in the game, but all four of them are free to download. Whilst Purple Heart is payed content (justified in her being a DLC Character), and there still being quite the amount of purchasable dialogue, the base game has enough content in it to provide free-to-plays the wiggle room needed to enjoy the app without having to be milked of all their worth (even if the grind for max affinity and Love-Love Mode can feel more annoying than endearing). I only have three nitpicks. The first involves the toned-down animation. A quick complement goes to keeping almost the entire original app alive within this Version 2.0, and letting veterans retain all their purchased content, but the contrast in animation quality is astounding. The previous version had much better touch-screen tracking, and the animations were all extremely fluid without any of the cut-outs found with the current version. Perhaps this was due to data constraints, but whenever a downgrade like this occurs, it is painfully obvious to the player base. The second nitpick is with Ultra Noire, or in different terms, the original apps’ Noire. Since the original app lives on in this app, that does unfortunately bring with it all the paid content complaints. This issue is kicked Up to Eleven with Ultra Noire, as her paid content is hidden behind purchasing her, only now in an app where she is for the most part, outdated. Yes, Purple Heart does suffer from a similar issue, but at least her current version is just that: current. I do understand that Idea Factory has the final say on what costs money and what doesn’t, bu in my rather humble opinion, both Noires should have been made free for all, just like both Neptunes. The final issue comes with the alarm clock system. When it works, it works great, and the exclusive wake-up interactions help encourage people to stay awake once they are awake. It even has a kind of log-in mechanic that rewards those who use it every day. This does not mean it works perfectly. On occasion, the alarm will flat-out refuse to work. Also, the reward system for the wake-up alarm only functions so long as the app is opened whilst the alarm is going off. A few bug patches and an increased time period to claim the reward would make the entire feature noticeably more solid. In the end, Idea Factory did a phenomenal job in bringing the Hyperdimension Neptunia App back from the grave. However, this is still just the beginning. A handful of touch ups are needed to bring this app into the range for 5-Star consideration. Overall, regardless of if you are a free-to-play, whale, or lover of all things Neppy, this app is well worth considering. Even if the only reason you want to get it is for the waifu head-patting mini-game.

As a Nep fan I found the app fun for some days but the lack of japanese voice option is a major letdown. I’m more used to the japanese voices so it’s a bit weird to me. Not a whole lot of content for free either, you have like 2 dialogue options and I know the devs need to make money but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. $5 for 1 character voice pack? Really!? They could at least let you unlock stuff for free with daily logins, heck even if it took a month or two to unlock a single voice set. At least you would have had the option. So If you wanna buy everything, including costumes and characters, you’re gonna go well beyond $60 dollars. I would be totally ok with paying 10 to 15 bucks to unlock everything in the app but as it stands there’s just too many caveats to truly enjoy it for what it is.

I’m enjoying the app so far. I haven’t bought anything from it yet but I will soon. I do have a recommendation thou. Instead of having just one CPU (Purple Heart who is one of my favorites), why not have the other three? Also you could add the COU candidates as well. And why your at it maybe some of the other girls in the Neptunia universe? Having the same four characters is nice but I would like to have more variety. Hope I’m not being too nerdy here but I just love the Neptunia franchise. Overall, I like the app and I look forward to future updates 😁👍

So it would seem that on less powerful devices such as 5th gen iPod touch anything with Purple Heart on screen crashes the app. Please fix if possible. Thank you 😀

I LOVE NEPTUNE! She’s the reason I too am obsessed with Boinging like a kangaroo. and I’m suprised they actually included the jumping on the bed dialogue from the “if goddesses slept with you” Japan dialogue but in English. Which reminds me, WE NEED MORE FREE DIALOGUE and FREE MOTIONS OF HER JUMPING LIKE A KANGAROO IN IOS 12 with the new Kangaroo emoji coming out and all! #LikeAKangaroo #Boing
