There are certain things in this app that it is great at accomplishing. I have found a lot of information here that I have not found on other sites similar to this one. Not to say that there aren’t still some seriously necessary tweaks that could be done. 1. Every time I shut this app, just for a minute or 2, it takes me back to starting position. So when you want to go back to what you were working on, you have to find it again... and again.... and again.... and again. You get the gist? 2. I work this on an IPad and it’s the only app I have that doesn’t support split screen so that I can use it and another app at the same time. Opposing apps have to sit on top of the MH screen as the MH screen will not shrink or draw up from the toolbar. 3. When adding a picture of someone to their profile, why does it add a second picture to their album. The album that has the exact same picture? Makes no sense. 4. Where is the information sources after you approve them. Sometimes I like to go back and verify my information is correct or consult it to possibly draw more information from and finding it is a booger, let me tell you!! That’s all I got for now. I will check back if any of these things change any time soon.

I do love this app. It does so much more that I couldn't do ony previous program. I do have problems with it though. This could be either there are not enough initial startup instructions & tips OR it could be due to my inattentiveness of reading the instructions & tips. Either way, I uploaded a backup file I had made in Family Tree Maker (FTM). Turns out this site wanted a Gedcom. I opened FTM and mad a GED, uploaded it and went to work. I was working on my tree with my iPhone. I didn't realize I was working on the FTM backup file, adding pictures, info, sources, etc. When I could work on my tree on my laptop I would. The tree that was working on on my laptop was the GED I uploaded with my old tree. I kept thinking that things on my laptop & iPhone weren't matching in places, so I compared them. Both of them were all messed up. Well, I deleted the Ged I generated from FTM thinking I'm good. WRONG! What I still didn't realize was that the original FTM backup file was still there along with what I assumed was a merge of the FTM backup & GED, plus the tree I thought I had been working on all this time. I didn't know I was supposed to manage my trees & pick out the real one to work on. I decided to delete the other trees to have one main correct tree. When I got to the part to delete the tree, the message was so demanding and scary making me believe I would lose all my work & photos never to be used again. Guess who chickened out? Still have 4 trees and still not remember to check to see which tree I was working on. It finally got so bad I thought, "Too bad if I lose it, none of this is right". So I deleted all but the one I had the most people on. Now I have 1 single tree, plus another site member tree. Thank goodness. I'm having a ball finding family. So very interesting, helps me find out medical issues that could affect my personal family, occupations, whether they were in the military, physical descriptions & so much more. I was raised in a children's home so this is just like an awesome family found me and adopted me!!!!❣️ My siblings and I were told all our lives our paternal great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. Six out of 9 siblings have/had black hair, dark brown eyes, cheekbones, olive skin & such. One sister could have passed for Lucille Ball's child. She had light brown hair with red, light hazel eyes, pale skin & such. Our facial features were the same, but that was all. She would cry & cry because she thought she was adopted by our parents since she didn't look like the rest of us. The three sisters had our DNA done. We've been told all our lives that our paternal grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indian. Six of the 9 siblings have/had black hair, dk brown eyes, high cheekbones, olive skin, & such. One of my sister's has declared all her life that she was adopted. She could pass for Lucille Ball's child. She has light brown hair, light hazel eyes, very pale skin. She does have the cheeks and same facial features as the other siblings. She would cry & cry & cry because she thought she was adopted. My sister's & I did our DNA. AND WOULDNT YOU KNOW It, our Lucille Ball sister has 1% Native American in her. My other sister & myself have "0"% Native American in us!!!!! I am distraught, shocked, in disbelief, & DO NOT UNDERSTAND this. It is what it is, so I will ask God to help me understand. The app is awesome, not me!!!

Attempted to use this app to build a family tree. I was drawn to the idea of being able to use photos for each member. I clicked to add a photo, selected photo, cropped the photo, clicked save and it wouldn’t show or save. It just showed a wheel spinning like it was loading. I tried it at least 5 times for multiple people on my tree. I finally got it to work and saved. I came back the same day, and everything was there. I was excited. The next day (today) I come back and most of the pictures and relationship were gone. Thankfully, I didn’t put a ton of time into this project. Disappointed with the apps save feature and disappointed that it isn’t always user friendly.
  • App functionality is good but customer service is poor

I don’t have complaints about the app itself. But I ordered and returned the associated DNA test in February 2018. Although results were promised in a few weeks, there were no results back after 2 months. I used the app tool to contact the company to inquire about next steps. Crickets. It’s now another 2 months and I have no DNA results and no response. Very disappointing.

I started with just wanting our DNA info and gained a great family tree. My Heritage makes it so much easier than others I’d started with. All the “discoveries” came to me without seeking and it became an exciting journey to feel a part of history unfold in my family. The love for my state of Texas comes blood born with the revelation of being related to one who gave his life in the Alamo, Col. Travis. Who knew.
  • Pretty Neat App!

Never thought I’d know about a lot about my history but this app does come up with some interesting nuggets quite often. Confirmed my parents limited info on our history and a whole lot that they were not aware of. Evidently my forbears were QUITE prolific on the Johnny Appleseed theory by the looks of my earth-wide ancestors and relatives😝
  • Don’t share your DNA! They just collect it

A month after uploading my DNA, it’s still “in processing”. If the free version can’t keep the load, how it even works for paid customers!? This seems wrong. There’s no mention that this feature is paid, so why throttling?

It works OK, but be prepared for the constant requests for subscription upgrade money. Don’t think for one minute that the Data Subscription level of service will supply you with anything more than the barest tease of info. Expect to prepay around $250 for a year’s subscription. If you’re cool with that, you will probably be OK with it.
