  • Bugs galore

    By neilschmeil
Text size is always reverting to the smallest size, audio playlists have strange display bugs where articles overlap with each other
  • Audio BUGS

    By bobbymars
The app is now complete rubbish, audio does not play in the background, the app must be open and even a screen saver on my iPhone kills the feed. Your programming staff needs to update this or I shall have to cancel my subscription.
  • Nice app

    Works well
  • Disappointing

Not intuitive interface. Too many persistent adds to click through. Also will not let me use my subscription on ipad
  • Audio broken yet again, CRASHES

    By Jonathan M.C.
After updates, bugs get added. Does anyone test before posting updates? The audio keeps failing with latest update, including not handling output change (speaker to headphones to bluetooth) especially when in background. Open Google Maps; audio pauses; open The Economist; can’t get it to continue play. Also, random crashes when playing in background
  • Audio feature broken

    By The cool Isaac
Updated 5/15/18: audio edition still awful. 1) The 1.5 speed plays left and right ear at different speeds—the stereo audio isn’t synced. Also why isn’t there a 1.25 speed? 2) there’s a 10 second gap between sections. 3) Generally laggy and slow still. It takes using the app for 2 minutes to see these problems, do the economist app devs test their product? Used this app years ago and it worked perfectly. Just resubscribed and it’s pretty much garbage. Not sure why they decided to make it unusable. Specifics: Playing/pausing audio doesn’t work. I have to close and reopen app regularly because it won’t play audio. This also applies to taking out AirPods—which auto-pauses audio. App is slow. Slowest user interface I’ve ever seen in an app. Tapping, swiping, opening, etc all seems to have a second or do delay. App must be using some tricky coding to get such consistent results. Also speed button is invisible. Makes for a cool Easter egg tho. Please fix your app. I love The Economist audio edition, but this app makes it easier to pirate the audio and play through another media player.
  • Audio page display issues

    By Bananas5743
Audio page doesn’t display properly on an iPhone 7 Plus. Titles get displayed on top of each other. Didn’t used to be this way, but got messed up with an update 2 months ago and was never fixed.
  • The audio is messed up once again

    By Khot78
Again, the audio ends when exiting the app. Makes listening to it impossible. Please fix it.
  • Audio edition is terrible

    By Adam Smith 7777
Randomly deletes audio files I have downloaded.
  • Getting worse with every update

    By nicknamegabor
I use this app mainly to listen to the audio version. The user experience is getting worse and worse. My main problems are the following: - no ability to chose the playback speed (why do you remove a good feature?) - have to swipe every time I open the app in order to close the add (this is a paid subscription, I don’t want to be annoyed with such things, even if it was a free service it would be bad way of showing an add) - the app doesn’t remember anymore where I stopped listening (again something what worked flawlessly before and now I need to remember where I stopped) In summary as much as I like the content, I hate this app with all my heart.
