  • Not much use

In example sentences they use "or" for "are" and misspelled other words.

Cons: The app lists words and definitions in alphabetical order. If you exit the app, it does not bookmark your place. You will have to begin again in the "A's". I was disappointed with this app. It is not interactive, and there are no games. This will not keep a child's attention. Pros: It reads the word aloud. It does not, however, read the definitions aloud.

Terrible. No menu to skip along the alphabet. Ridiculous that this is not included. Don't buy

As a reading specialist, I was very excited about the prospect of this app because of the audio, synonym, and example features. I am disappointed that it is not as user friendly for the classroom as I had hoped because there is no index/menu to view all choices quickly. Effective & busy teachers will want to pick their word of the day rather than rely on alphabetical order to sequence their instruction. A further improvement would be an antonym/nonexample feature as found with the Frayer model for vocabulary instruction. In it's current format, this app should be Free. If the improvements were made, they I would rate it much higher.

No sound! Don't waste your money. Does not do what it says it does.
  • Issues

For such as simple app we quickly found several issues: - Looks like it would have sound for word pronunciation but sound doesn't work. - App doesn't switch between portrait and landscape. - There's no app setup/configuration so what you see is what you get. I thought apple apps were well tested.
