  • The Best library book manager

    By RenaultE
I have tried a lot of them, and this is the absolute best. I tried the free version and tested it out first. I was amazed at how easy and well it works. I am going to order the Pro version to help support the app. It is awesome and syncs perfectly with iCloud or Dropbox.
  • Ok but not great

    By Nobody you know 87
The concept is good but there are several major flaws that make this app hard to use Most importantly: the bar code scanner fails 100% of the time on paperback novels. Works pretty well on hardbacks but ALWYS fails on paperbacks There’s no easy way to batch input ISBN numbers. I have a number of older books without bar codes. I have to select “scan multiple barcodes” then click an (obscure) button that brings up an ISBN entry form for just *one* book. ISBN entry (including batches) should be on the top level menu Finally, you can’t delete books from the search results. When purging books you have to either scroll to each one in the library listing or search, edit, scroll to the very bottom, click delete. Needs to add swipe-to-delete right from the search results. Camera keeps resetting to auto flash no matter how many times I disable it The app does a lot of things well, but the aforementioned items interfere with the most common tasks I perform.
  • Enjoying the app

    By blessed by Jesus
I am enjoying the app very much. We are a home school family and have many books coming and going from multiple libraries. Keeping track of them all can be a crazy task. With this app I can enter in all of the books as I check them out and know quickly what books we have. I really like the feature of returning the books. Sometimes our libraries may not get a returned book scanned in and I comes up over due. But I have no way to prove I have returned it. With this app I can have a record I have returned it. One change I would make to this app would to allow scanning in movies, cds, magazines, anything that could be checked out in a library. This way app users could keep track of these loaned items also. Thank you for a sanity saver!
  • Great App

Awesome for keeping track of what I've read. When I find a new series it's sometimes difficult to keep it straight if I've read something or not. This solves the problem.
  • Just what I needed!

    By Mandababy64
I love reading but I have a bad habit of buying books more than once so this app is perfect because I can always have my library at my fingertips so i never re-buy a book again! Also I can keep track of who I loan books out to which is also perfect! Definitely worth the 4.99!
  • Book Buddy

Like having a place to list all the books I’ve read and the ones I want to read.
  • I wish there was a way to inventory

I like the app it is fairly simple to use. However, as a teacher, I wish there was a way to inventory my library at the end of the year.
  • Product=5 Customer service=0

    By Whisper_Aces
I’ve been trying to get in touch with the developers and their customer service all day, but apparently they’re not interested in helping their customers. I’m very frustrated and let down. Edit: I changed to four stars because although it took a few days to get back to me, when they did contact me they were very helpful and solved my problem quickly and elegantly.
  • Lacks Basic Information

    By FireWrite
When upgrading from BookBuddy to BookBuddy Pro there is little to no guidance on how to integrate the basic and upgraded versions of this app. I spent many hours over the past few days scanning ISBN numbers and manually inputting book data into the basic version. I expected that the upgrade would be seamless, incorporating the previously cataloged books into the Pro version with its larger capacity. Not so. I have tried syncing the data, tried importing, tried to contact the developer — no phone number—tried You Tube, searching for a how-to video, all to no avail. The books I catalogued are still sitting in the basic version, and when I click on “upgrade” it instructs me to buy the Pro version for $4.99, which I already did! I even phoned Apple’s support line, and they insisted on remotely accessing my laptop, even though the app was only on my iPad. That felt invasive and violating, and unnecessary. In the end, they offered no help, just the suggestion to contact the app developer. Square one. Kimico Ltd. needs to do a better job of creating a user friendly app and providing adequate support. Some of the books I listed in the basic version also are not showing up in the overall list, although when I tried to relist them, a message appeared saying the books were already included, although they could not be seen in the master list. At this point, I am considering alternative book cataloguing apps.
  • Works pretty well

Can’t find all isbn numbers. Would also like to be able to catalog which ones I’ve read.
