Description

*** AeroWeather: for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and everyone who is serious about the weather! *** Current and precise weather conditions (METAR) and forecasts (TAF). AeroWeather Pro provides quick and intuitive access to METAR and TAF for airports worldwide. Data can be shown in its original (raw) format or as fully decoded and easy understandable texts. AeroWeather Pro is helpful for weather preflight-briefings, but also to just get very precise weather. All weather data is cached for offline access. There are many settings for units and format of METAR/TAF available. In addition to weather data, AeroWeather Pro integrates also airport NOTAMs (provided by US FAA), webcam images around airports (provided by webcams.travel), and US ATC delay information (provided by US FAA). The app features a built-in airport database, which includes basic airport data like runways, sunrise/sunset, twilight times, timezones etc. AeroWeather Pro now offers built-in groups for earthquakes, ATC delays (US only), nearby stations, today widget, and Apple Watch which can be individually enabled on the top level view. Besides creating user groups it’s also possible to put stations on the same level user groups. This might be useful for your most favourite airports or home base. Depending on your needs, groups can be shown or hidden in the main list view. User groups can now be synchronized via Cloud Kit*. METAR alert notifications* is another new and helpful feature to stay up-to-date. Define multiple alerts for each station with the following criteria: flight rule (US NOAA), wind speed, temperature, pressure, present weather, visibility, and ceiling (BKN and OVC). Notifications will be sent to your device if the criteria is met (e.g., when wind is greater/equal 10 kts, flight rule becomes IFR). The AeroPix feature offers users the possibility to take quickly picture(s) of the weather at their current location. The pictures will be available to all other pilots (on the map or within an airport detail view) helping them to get a better idea about local conditions. AeroPix should be especially helpful when there's no or insufficient webcam coverage. AeroWeather Pro comes with an Apple Watch app, which shows either a list of stations as defined in the Apple Watch group or all nearby stations based on the current location. METAR, TAF, and webcam images (if available and enabled in the Watch App settings on the iPhone) are displayed for each station. In addition, you can put AeroWeather as a complication in your watch face to stay up-to-date. Please consult our web-site for a full description of all features. * Additional functionality which needs to be unlocked (one-time purchase). In-app purchases are not transferable between Lite, Pro, and Mac.

  • Horrible

I paid for the pro version of this app years ago, and the entire time the watch complication has been a buggy mess. To make matters worse the developer, instead of fixing bugs, has now rolled out additional features that require an in app purchase (even if you already paid for the “pro” version). Maybe it’s time to fix problems instead of coming up with ways to scam more cash from your users.
  • Fast response to user requests

The app itself is very good, and it works efficiently on my iPhone. The developer responds quickly to requests for airport database updates and corrections. As a soaring pilot, this is my goto app for initial planning.
  • Worst update

Just updated with the latest release. Lost 2 years of data that I use daily. DO NOT UPGRADE THE APP. App had the best indication of x wind components allowing for quick interpretation. The update now has runways depicted and it’s a real chore to pick out the data you need. Get rid of it and go back. Talk to users BEFORE MAKING BAD CHANGES.

I paid for the pro version years ago and now the developer has rolled out features that require an in app purchase that used to be included with the pro version. There are other products out there that don't keep digging into our pockets.

I agree with other posts. This app is great on the phone and use to be on my watch. Now after many resets will not mirror the iPhone. Please fix it this week. Same for me too with Apple Watch two.
  • Updates are losing important features

Not all airports use the same altimeter setting unit. Some use Hpa others use in. of Hg. Before you had the option to use original station units. Now with 2.0 it's either Hpa or in. of Hg. Lack of options will kill this app
  • Must-have for pilots and meteorologists!

Hands down the best METAR app out there. I use the Watch aspect all the time. I love it.

Having used the lite version for some time , I wanted the extra features of the pro version namely the access to notams. I bought the pro version and was very happy with the one stop shop access to other data . Updating to the new version I find that there is no access to notams , a feature I paid for !! Do not update .

Very good and easy to use. Only thing I would recommend is maybe to add a feature where we can put for example Departure and Arrival airports to obtain both weather info together instead of look for each airport individually. Thanks good job!
  • Doesn’t work with my Apple Watch

I love the app and before I would have given it a 5 star rating. But it doesn’t work with my new Apple Watch. Because there isn’t an Apple Watch group on the iphone app, the data doesn’t appear on my watch. Too bad and two stars!
