  • This Version Needs Subscription

I love to do a random geocache with my family when out and about and to my surprise the original app had a pop up saying it was going to be non functional in march. So I decided to get the updated new app only to find that I need to pay monthly to use it. I paid $10 for the original app that lasted me years. I understand the need for more money to pay a developer to refresh and update an app. I would gladly pay another $10 for a new and improved version but the subscription price is just too high for the amount of geocaching we do. Good Bye Geocaching, It Was Nice While It Lasted.
  • Ongoing costs, money-grabbing, sad waste

    By jgrandon
Not worth paying ongoing fees for a hobby you only do sometimes.
  • “More consistent experience”

    By ItsMyNickname
Ummm, no. If you wanted to provide a more consistent experience you wouldn’t have taken away the app that a bunch of us paid for....
  • Cause for concern

    By Evan W6
I’m reviewing this because people are leaving their cache on/in private property in Texas. I will remove and destroy all I find on private property. Include instructions in your app to avoid private property.
  • Downgrade from previous version

    By Lasersaw
In my opinion it’s still a good app, but I preferred the previous version
  • Used to be fun & worth while

    By Jermjerm92
I used to enjoy this app and the website before they started charging mouthy/yearly to find geocaches. I get they need to make money to keep the service around and all but still, eliminating access to a majority of caches?!
  • Greedy developers

    By Moderndk
Like 90% of the reviews on here I paid for the $9.99 for the original app. Then when I tried to used this purchase, I have to pay monthly 3x the cost of the original app cost! No thank you. That has to be illegal. ( its like I purchase a tv and then they only give me sound unless I pay monthly ) That was a year ago. Decided to check again today to see if the developers might actually listen to the users but nope... so sad to see a great community and activity destroyed by greed. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
  • Works great!

Since we usually geocache where there is cell service, this app does what we need it to do.
  • If only I could give no stars...

I used to have the geocache classic app on my phone. That’s how I started geocaching and got pretty into it. It was fun and easy and got me to exercise outside. I haven’t had much of a chance to use spare time and walk around so I decided to start back up. First thing I found was that my old app didn’t work and I never got so much as an email telling me geocache was switching to a new system. So I downloaded the new app cause I was excited to start doing it again. Now I can’t access any geocaches hardly at all. Not even ones I’ve found in the past. There’s no way I would pay for a basic gps system to find things. Instead of getting people outside and making them want to geocache. You people are making it impossible. I’m a college student I barely have time to get outside. Much less the money to pay for a basic app that doesn’t really do anything. Unless the subscription part goes away, consider me not a returning customer
  • Disappointed

This app will not open on my iPhone. This has been going on for a while. Worked when I first got it a couple years ago. Going back to the web site.
