This is a very simple touchscreen-based Morse Code straight key. Practice sending Morse Code on your iPhone (or 2nd generation iPod Touch, or 1st generation iPod Touch with external speakers plugged-in). Touch the display screen and the device will sound out a tone. The duration of the tone is controlled by how long you touch the device screen. Send Dots using quick touches, and Dashes by touches held down 3 times longer. The tone frequency is adjustable from 300 Hz to 1200 Hz in the Settings. The volume can be adjusted to a lower level as well. There is also an iambic keyer (mode A) with adjustable dot speed available. A Morse Code tutorial is not included. You can find one on Wikipedia or on the ARRL website. Also see MorseTest, in the iPhone App Store, another educational Morse Code application by HotPaw Productions.

  • Great app

Currently teaching a class on forms of communication (including Morse Code) and this app will be handy teaching the kids Morse Code.
  • Stopped working on IOS update

    By CBRA Maryland
Update: I am putting this review back up to five stars. I solved the problem by turning Pandora on listening to sound and then turning it off. The Morse App came back on with sound. Please remove the one star review regarding no sound with the IOS 6.2.1. The app works great again.

  • Meh.

Very great for practice but for some reason it decides just not to work sometimes and you must delete and reinstall the app to allow it to even make sound. Very annoying and nothing new has been fixing it yet.
  • Stopped working properly after the latest update.

    By Kot1234567893
The application (iambic mode) got screwed up by the latest update. The programmers must have tested it for 3 seconds and said "Great! It works!" Well, had you tested it for 10 more seconds, IT WOULD HAVE STOPPED WORKING, GUYS! It used to be a good program; now it's USELESS! It stops working after a few seconds. It's a shame.
  • Excellent app!

If you are looking for a morse key on your phone, this is it. Iambic and straight key mode. Touch the screen for a dit. Long touch for a dah. You can practice anywhere, anytime. Maybe a group practice at lunch?
  • Very bad for your fist

This app will give you a sloppy fist. Not recommended.

I was really excited to find this app because it's exactly what I've been searching for, but to my disappointment It simply does not work. I love the idea of this app and would like to see it work better.
  • Used to be good...

It used to work great, but no longer produces any sound with IOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4.
