The Skype you know and love has an all-new design, supercharged with a ton of new features and new ways to stay connected with the people you care about most. What can I do with Skype? • Messaging made awesome: More than just text. Send photos, videos, voice messages, emoticons, Mojis and more. You can also respond to any message from your contacts with reactions. • Great for groups: Add your favorite people and start chatting. Use groups to plan together, play together, for staying in touch or just for hanging out. • Call everyone - Skype, mobiles and landlines: Free* video and voice calls make it easier to stay connected with friends and family. You’ll also enjoy low calling rates to mobiles and landlines worldwide with Skype.  • Never miss a moment with quick capture: Quickly swipe to capture photos and videos. Make them your own by adding emoticons, stickers and annotations. • Share Highlights: Keep others updated with Highlights from your day. React to any highlights with awesome emoticons or send a private message about that highlight. Your highlights only stay visible for 7 days to your followers. *Skype to Skype calls are free. Operator data charges may apply. We recommend using an unlimited data plan or WiFi connection. Upgrading to the new Skype may result in the deletion of content from older conversations. To save photos and videos that were previously sent or received in an older version of Skype, save that content to your camera roll/photo gallery before upgrading to the new Skype.

  • US Number and Call Forwarding!!!

I travel overseas a lot so I used to use MagicJack to have a state-side number. One day I read skype also offers a US number and on top of that it can forward calls to my cell phone with way better sound, calls don’t drop, good communication! I love it!
  • Awesome for a traveling executive.

This application makes it possible for a person like me to have lengthy conversations with his family without the concern of cost. We also have many colleagues that you lies the app so I can talk to them free of charge. I think Skype is awesome.

somewhere along the line my skype contacts got deleted. i had friends for years who ive now lost contact with. good job skype. you'd think they'd save ur contacts info the one thing that matters in a social app. guess not. worthless trash.
  • Always crashes

    By 95Maroon
Skype mobile always crashes no matter how many times I update/reinstall. I’ve found the only fix is to create a completely new account which is still only a temporary fix as the same thing begins to happen again a couple weeks later. I really love using Skype on my laptop but having an extremely faulty mobile version is inconvenient.

Was very great app till they took the option of calling 1-800 calls for free while out of the country. Otherwise love it.
  • Travelers Dream

I travel all over the world. Even though the mobile operators have “deals” Skype is better. Better Quality at a very low and affordable price. We are a startup and can not afford the normally high roaming rates. Sometimes you want to share video with computer users and phone users who don’t always have an iPhone. Skype is the universal answer.

  • Garbage

The new design is truly one of the worst things I've ever seen in software. Worse than even Clippy. I'm not surprised that this also comes from Micro$oft. - Why does Microsoft think their dead platform's UI design and theme is appropriate for iOS? Why doesn't this app follow the iOS User Interface Guidelines? E.g. when deleting "chats," one has to long-hold to get a list of options, which is a Windows Phone convention. This is insulting to the platform and confusing to the user. Typically Microsoft. - If you use a VPN, Skype won't work sometimes. Why not? Does Microsoft want to collect and sell private information or use this information for "targeted ads" like Google and Facebook? - Why am I being constantly bothered with notifications about useless new changes? I have eyes. I can see Skype has a new ugly user-hostile design. I don't need to be bothered by unwanted notifications. - Why can't I remove the recent calls history? Does no one involved in ruining Skype actually use any other app? This is an essential feature that Skype is missing now. - Why are my contacts listed in two places: Calls and Contacts? If the same information needs to be listed in two place, you've failed. Or is it that the young clueless designers who ruined this app have just discovered the concept of a phone call and are compensating for their own lack of knowledge? - What is "Highlights" and why is there a need for it? This isn't Snapchat or whatever new toy the kids are using today. If I wanted a highlights feature, I'd use Snapchat not Skype. Plus they keep putting garbage "news" in there begging their users to tap it so their engagement numbers go up. - Why is there a tab at the bottom of the app that's actually a button? And why is it a shortcut to the camera? I would use Instagram or Snapchat, or pretty much any other app, if I wanted to send pictures to people. Skype is a telephony app and should prioritize that functionality. The fact that there are developer responses asking people to tell them about these issues shows just how clueless Microsoft is about what Skype is or how people use it. It's either that or they knew and went ahead with these disastrous changes anyway. Either way it shows a complete lack of awareness and respect for users.
