  • Don’t waste your money

The Compliment (the good) The picture of the handsome CEO, Alexander Marktl, is worth more than the app itself. The Bad This is the worst translator ever. I speak more than more language and have tested several very basic and simple phrases and eat have been either completely wrong or linguistically incorrect. At worse, you will confuse the person you’re conversing with because they will think you’re talking to them in a different language other than their own. At best, you will still confuse the person because the translation is so grammatically and linguistically wrong, they will wither think you’re not speaking their language (similar to “worse”) or they will realize you’re speaking their language but won’t understand what you’re trying to say. Save your money and time. I’ve even tried setting the app to a specific language, but tried different dialects of that language and none helped.

  • Incomplete information

I was not happy with being offered this as a free app and then after I downloaded it I was told it was only free for 7 days and would then cost $4.99 per month. I deleted it.
  • Translations Not Accurate & Not Free

I am bilingual (English and Spanish) you are probably wondering why I downloaded the app. I downloaded it so that it could translate back and forth between English and German because my boyfriend is German and his parents and some of his friends don’t speak English. My German is also very limited so that doesn’t help either. I wanted to test out the app by speaking Spanish to see if the app would translate right into English and vise versa and I was shocked by if 2 of the most spoken languages in the world (aside from Chinese) aren’t translated well then I can’t trust it to translate between my English and German well, especially if it is a more complex language. I already deleted the app. I hope they make major improvements or make it free. I will have to stick to learning the language better on a different app I use and keep using the free translations apps (I am not going to pay $5 a month on this app if it doesn’t work well). If it was free then I’d consider it because it is just as bad as the free ones. Good luck developers (hire some more linguists). Oh and if anyone says this app works well, it is because they are not fluent and don’t know any better. Again, please hire linguists and learn conversational pieces to the languages (includes slang and you must hire linguists that were born and raised with the 2 languages you are trying to translate between to get it right).
  • Not that accurate

The first thing I tried to translate from English to Spanish was: "I think I helped a little, but not much". The translation came back as: "Creo que me ayudó un poco, pero no mucho" which translates to "I think it helped me a little, but not much". I tried several times and always got the same wrong result. I then tried the excellent Google Translate app with voice recognition and got the correct translation the first time: "Creo que ayudé un poco, pero no mucho". The app has a pretty nice interface. However, the initial attempt to up-sell the expensive Pro package seems sneaky and certainly tricks some people into buying. Overall, I like the interface, but I don't trust the translations.
  • Not good for some people with physical disabilities

    By Francesca De Grandis
Having to press the screen the whole time I’m talking is not only physically painful for me but injurious to my arms.
  • Not very accurate

    By ppflieger
When I spoke in french, including with an accent, it wouldn’t even translate the correct words. I said a simple phrase of “tu veux parler en anglais?” And it didn’t come anywhere near the correct translation. Overall, very disappointed with this app :(.
  • Not free just a trial

Just a trial till then scam you for $ for doing a simple service many other apps do for free
  • Only works in one direction

My girlfriend is from China and I wanted to have conversation with her in Mandarin. I wanted to be able to go back and forth as it said it could. It doesn’t seem to translate what I’d Being said in mandarin correctly. It works in English but not in Chinese. It substituted words for English words most of the time. It’s not with the money.
