  • Not ready to give it five stars

Second time now I have purchased something new or scheduled an upgrade that counted down to completion and reset the clock from the starting point. Just happened again with the vineyard. Not the only flaw in the game but one of a few that may make me stop playing at some point. The game requires patience. When frustration outweighs reward - a potentially great game becomes a good game. And this game has enormous potential!

This game is well designed to balance the pay-as-you-go option with free play. If you want to play for free, advancement is slower but reasonable. My reason for holding back the fifth star is aesthetic rather than pragmatic. The game is filled with anachronisms, starting with June’s slacks (not socially acceptable dress for women until the 1930s) and many of the items in the puzzles (Polaroid photos, a laminate ID badge, universal traffic signs, plastic neon traffic cones, etc.). Sometimes there are more than one of the item you’re looking for in the scene, although only one is correct. And some of the labels in English are misleading or just plain wrong. Fortunately, the Hint feature is generous. I have been playing daily for months now and have enjoyed most of the artwork as well as the game play. Overall, one of the best games out there. I just wish the artists had a better sense of history.

2nd update: If you have any delusions of playing this game for any length of time, forget any notions you might have about decorating your area to be aesthetically pleasing. Just jam everything in as tightly packed as possible. I didn’t understand it when I saw other players doing it. Now I do. The game developers should either make it so the game can be played as designed or allow you to purchase the parts you need. This fighting tooth and nail for every square inch is just ridiculous. It reminds me of two(2) upper level chess players fighting to gain the advantage of a pawn. I use to try and help my memory which is affected by the meds I have to take. Would like to be able to redo those moves without changing my score. When you are building your estate, it would be nice to go back and add some more of a particular item. As it is now, once you are done, you are done. Sometimes you can make a mistake with the cursor and that’s it, you’re finished. Some of the descriptions of items you are looking for in a scene are quite a stretch but still an enjoyable game to play. Update: I am now at level 65 and stuck. I can go no farther. I have no space to add buildings. I have purchased everything I can purchase in the game. I have no buildings I can add, only fences, grass, small bushes or rock paths which all have very little value of 1 pink flowers and I still need 247 pink flowers in order to play the next level. I better understand why other players just jammed everything right next to each other with no regard for anything aesthetically pleasing while decorating your area. I did that once to play level 64. I cannot play the game which I use to try to improve my memory due to the meds I have to take. I enjoy playing this game but it is very frustrating not being able to play. I literally cannot play this game any more. If I could purchase any more of those darn pink flowers, I would.

Things are hidden in dark areas that are barely visible. When searching they throw in things that are misnamed. Example metal strap is actually an exhaust clamp. I also got a perfect, but not credited for it. I think when I run out of energy this go around I will not be coming back. Games are supposed to be fun. This one is no longer fun.

The best game I’ve played on my phone in a long time! I’ve played really any and every match game I thought would keep my attention with their many levels. but after a while with the constant ads begging you to pay for this or that and waiting forever for energy to even play…I finally kept deleting those apps on my phone and didn’t download. in this one, the mystery keeps my attention, they’re not begging you to pay for things with ads, and you earn coins and energy after only a few hours.

I love the game as a whole but I’ve gotten to a point that I can’t do anything else... what’s the point in being able to store items if it takes away the flowers necessary to play the game? I can’t expand without compasses, but playing the mastered levels generally only gives you coins. Selling things off gives you space and coins but again takes away flowers that are needed to play the game. I can understand taking a few of the flowers away for selling but as long as it takes to build them up puts people like me in this situation of “keep playing or delete the game”. I know that someone can fix it so that at least storing the items doesn’t take the flowers away. And someone should. Cause I can’t buy anything that will give me enough flowers to move on because I’m out of space again. And I learned my lesson selling things off to make room and lost over 5000 flowers for my effort to keep playing... fix the issues...
