  • Not for kids smart enough to disable VPN

    By Levotti
Good thinking but the application is not servicing to purpose. First i was so impressed and paid for a year subscription. Second i figured, it is not possible to track my kid’s activity once he disable VPN. It is not possible to use this app properly. And they did not refund my money back. Poor service...

UnGlue relies on a VPN configuration to work however a Running VPN causes some apps not to work - specifically Netflix. What’s even worse is that disabling the VPN requires no password and was quickly figured out by my kids. Once the VPN is disabled tracking and limiting time stops working. Shame on you unGlue!!!
  • Doesn’t work with Roblox

    By JeffMorg
I spent a ton of time researching this and was super excited to try it. Very disappointed to find out that Roblox won’t work at all with the UnGlue profile installed. Uninstall the profile and it works again. How frustrating. Given that this is where my kids spend all of their iPad time it ain’t gonna work for us. Moving on to the next solution.
  • Working well

So far our 10-year-son has loved this app. He has more incentives to finish his homework early, to make his bed and do his chores in order to gain more time. It’s amazing how an extra 5 minutes can keep a kid responsible 😊

When app is installed on Childs device it will not allow child to watch videos we approve. Other than this it’s been a great app
  • Hate the app

I have purchased the premium version for a year—-HUGE MISTAKE-HUGE! The set up of the app doesn’t allow the kids to play certain games (like Pokémon go) not because they are out of time, because it doesn’t work with VPN in the background. So I have to turn it off. The kids are also able to turn off the VPN on their own, or uninstall the app altogether. It is not password protected. Also I would like for the kids to be able to allow certain apps but not others, this app either allows all or nothing entertainment related. (except music, that does not use minutes). I got an email (through email subscription with the provider) that the ceo and founder line to hear from me, so I told him what I thought and that I like my money back - guess what I haven’t heard back. Instead I was sent another email to please rate their app at 5 stars.... BS. I’d like my money back and I will start getting in touch with someone who knows how to legally get a refund.
  • Manages same time bank across all devices!

    By chuckarter
I’m thrilled to teach my son how to self manage his internet time across his multiple devices - iPhone, iPad, Xbox, and a Windows laptop. I’ve set up the App to allow an hour per day, with the opportunity for him to complete chores to earn an additional hour per day. Love that he can motivate to do chores to earn more time in his ‘Entertainment Time Bank’. Also teaches him about saving, as unused minutes “roll-over” in his time bank for future use.
  • Does not work

This app is ridiculously difficult to use and I can’t even assess the functionality. It lists two phones for one of my kids, when I only set up one. My other child has “no device” assigned to him in the child view, but in the device view, it is assigned to him. It’s not tracking the minutes properly. One device shows no minutes while the other has minutes added to it. I’ll be trying something that actually works. Sad I wasted so much time setting this up.
  • Lacking

For the most part this app does what it says. You can block internet access and allocate time/reward your child. My issue has been reporting. My child easily turns off their VPN. At times I’m notified, others I’m not. Additionally, at times I would be notified that my child was not connected to UnGlue when they actually were. (Hence the 2 stars). Where I feel UnGlue really fails is that it lacks app control. (In defense of UnGlue, they don’t advertise this as a feature.) However, let me explain. If your child has a favorite game that doesn’t require internet access, they can play for hours and hours because UnGlue doesn’t “control” anything other than internet access. In other words, UnGlue doesn’t limit screen time. It limits internet time and provides parents a little filtering. This may need your needs, but it just didn’t meet ours.
  • No Screen Time Management

    By activelifejs
I have mixed opinions about this app. On the plus side, it has a nice layout and the “rollover” minutes are a nice idea. On the negative side, the app does not actually control much of the screen time, it simply controls the internet connection which means many games can still be played and it does not report it or restrict it. As for blocking “inappropriate content” it just has a single switch to toggle on and off. Obviously I don’t want my kids watching porn but there is a full spectrum of content out there and the app gives no control over what it is blocking it’s just on or off. I’d like a report of the domains that were visited and all of the apps that were used, not just the ones that are registered with UnGlue. I would like control over what apps can be used during the restriction times. Good concept but not comprehensive enough for our family.
