  • Not worth a monthly or yearly fee

Prisma is good. But it’s not recurring monthly fee good or recurring yearly fee good. Flat fee good, yes. Don’t waste your money just yet. Update: Not only did Prisma developers take filters we had and lock them, but they have scaled the free filters back to when the app was fairly new. I haven’t seen too many premium-subscription-only filters used in my feed since the institution of the monthly/yearly fee. Those of us who are loyal posters have predominantly been recycling all of the original filters we’ve been limited to, and that’s gotten boring. Consider switching to the Deep Art Effects app (there are a plethora of filters, and even if you want to unlock “premium” filters, all Deep Art Effects asks is a one-time flat fee of $3.99. Or, you could try Artly, but it’s not as good. Please continue to boycott this monthly/yearly fee. Greed is an evil thing. Once again, Prisma is good, but it’s not recurring monthly fee good or recurring yearly fee good. Flat fee good, yes. Don’t waste your money just yet. Update: I can’t believe Prisma is still holding out for a monthly subscription/yearly renewal fee! There needs to be a one time flat fee or the ability to purchase packs of filters ... Update: To add insult to injury, as of today (5/25/18), you have to agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, where you are NOT allowed to uncheck the processing statement or the box saying Prisma can contact you. What if I don’t want Prisma contacting me? Now, if the campaign to charge monthly or yearly suddenly stops, someone can contact me!

When I first signed up for this app, I had no complaint. The filters are beautiful. I love looking at other users’ photos. But there’s this thing that’s been happening consistently for the last five months. People are getting banned for no reason. They are then told by a prisma representative that they were flagged by multiple users for inappropriate content. But the offending photo is something like a tree, a building or a road. It makes no sense. And it takes days and tons of e-mails back and forth to resolve the issue. When prisma support finally realizes the user has been unfairly banned, their explanation for what happened seems like a cop-out. The solution to this issue seems obvious. Have a prisma rep check out the “offending” photo before banning. But it’s still going on. I paid for a year’s subscription to prisma before this started happening, so I’m still an active user. But I probably won’t pay again once the year’s up, if this issue isn’t resolved. If you’re thinking of paying for the full prisma app and you’ve made it through this whole rant, you might want to think twice.

I loved the Prisma app that used to be. Now all complicated and intrusive. I do not want to subscribe or pay a fee for a free app. And especially after ready the privacy policy it scared me away. There IS NO privacy! I can’t even get into the app to see what it has available now unless I agree to your policy! Forget it. Too bad.
  • This is the best style transfer app

This is the best of the style transfer app on IOS. It is very fast and offers a lot of styles to choose from. I would give it 5 stars if it allowed me to make my own styles. I don’t like the subscription model and would rather have a one shot purchase option but I pay it anyway because I use this every day. NOTE: I have left one star off because the iPad version does not provide the new image adjustment feature. I don’t understand why the iPad version does not get the same feature updates as the iPhone version. PLEASE FIX! PRETTY PLEASE!
  • Used to be "free"

App used to be free. Now it is definitely not. I will change my use to something else. Didn't mind a few ads to have all the filters. Now not many, difficult to find. Not a necessary app, so bye. I see reviews and responses stating that free filters are still there. Great. But they are hidden behind menus that are difficult to navigate, directing you to pay for a subscription that can't be carried over between Android/iOS . I'll use something else. Not nearly the same, but free as in free.
  • How low can they go?

Every time Prisma says "Bug fixes and updates", you have to wonder which feature they're going to take away next, and/or what lies they're going to put in their developer responses to the reviews calling them out. Don't believe that they're lying? Sort the responses by recent first and start browsing. Do you think all the people pointing out their lies are in some sort of cabal? It's incredible that the developers are so insulting and so dismissive of the truth that they think they can publish complete fabrications on the App Store and no one will care. But I guess that's what politics in 2018 teaches people.

I’ve had issues with this app for a while, but today was the last straw. Since the update today, I’m seeing photos of people I don’t follow and none of the ones I do follow...WTH. Also, a few months ago this year, I tried to log in and it basically prompted me to open a new account like I never had one to begin with, so I’ve lost access to my old account, photos, and followers. I contacted support about this and the issue was never resolved. The filters are nice but not worth the hassle.
