Later we created Surviving High School and Cause of Death, the first games with episodes, for EA. Both games hit the Top 25 and were inspirations for other companies. After leaving EA, our team regrouped in a small office and with the quacking of nearby ducklings we set out to create story-driven games with heart. As Pixelberry, we launched two hit games, High School Story and Hollywood U. Our team has now grown to over a dozen of the most experienced game writers in the industry. In our 10 years of creating story games together, we’ve seen heartbreak, marriages, great adventures, and even Pixelbabies. But even through diaper changes and late nights, we think we’ve created our best work to date. We hope you’ll fall in love with our newest characters, Chris, James, Kaitlyn, Dave, and Sam just as we have. Enjoy, - The Pixelberry Team

It takes a while to get diamonds, but I only use those for really important parts such as boosting relationship with the partner in The Freshman, (which for me will always be Kaitlyn)

Choices is such an amazing way to tell stories, it very interactive and filled with life and beautiful animations. Each story has a unique quirk and troubles your character or characters learn to overcome with the help of friend or family. It is just so hard to enjoy some of the stories when some of the best parts are locked by gems. I’m speaking for those who don’t have money to buy them from your store, like me. My character can’t dress for any special events in multiple stories or can’t have time alone with their significant other. It really puts a damper on the mood of the stories.
  • Um.. Where are my keys?

I can't play the game! I know it sounds dumb but I actually have no keys and there's no timer telling me when I'll get my next key. I have just... no keys. And I can't spend any money because I don't know my restrictions code. Thanks.now I can't play the game.
  • DIAMONDS!

I love this game, the stories are great, The characters feel real, and I love that you’re able to make choices that actually do affect the story (Ahem, Telltale). But one pet peeve is the Diamond situation, this games is essentially pay to win, you need a certain amount of diamonds to accomplish a goal that you set your mind to. But the thing is you’re given diamonds so scarcely and rarely you’re hardly able to do anything. To give an example, you need 30 diamonds to accomplish most tasks. After each chapter you’re awarded only 1 diamond. Meaning that in order to accomplish anything that requires diamonds in the game, you’ll have to play 30 other chapters not related at all to the story that you’re currently playing. This is extremely frustrating, especially when you have to play chapters for stories you don’t care about, this is a huge turnoff. Therefore, the only way to get diamonds is to spend a ridiculous amount of actual money, or to spend most of your time playing stories that you don’t care about at all, just to accomplish a goal that you’re gonna use all your diamonds that you earned on, and then the grind continues. It’s a horrible cycle.

For many of the choices they offer you, it costs $1.99. it’s impossible to save up diamonds and each choice costs like 17-20 and you can buy like 20 for $1.99. So you’re spending two bucks to make “exclusive” choices like who to date and outfits. It’s a waste of money and time.

I was hoping we could maybe have more stories about babies and creating a family?
  • Too long of a wait time

I’ve been playing choices for over a year now and I’ve even gotten some of my family and friends to play it too. The stories are great and entertaining, and it’s an easy way to unwind before bed. The only problem I have about it is the wait time is too long for me! 1 or 2 hours for a key is fine but 3 HOURS!! I’d rather play the game episode (which is just like choices) if I have to wait 3 hours. PLEASE FIX IT
  • Diamond/key too expensive

I love that this is basically a modern “choose your own adventure” type game. That being said, the “premium” choices are WAY too expensive and come far too frequently in the stories given how long it takes to get diamonds, unless you’re willing to shell out $20 for diamonds that would last maybe 10 premium choices tops. And like another review said- you can’t even replay books for diamonds, and you are stuck using up more keys. I also like their idea of “daily draw” type things that give you diamonds and keys. They need to lower the cost of the premium choices, or make them much less frequent at the current cost. Or they need to give more keys and allow replays to earn diamonds. This app would have 5 stars if it wasn’t so obvious they only want to force their users into constantly buying diamond packages.
