  • Great Journal, but...

I really like Day One. Very intuitive and easy to use. I can quickly open the app and start typing before whatever thought I wanted to express escapes me. The one thing I wish Day One had was video journaling from within the app. As it is now I have to record a video entry using my phone’s camera app, and then go back into Day One and attach the video. I have a car mount and like to record thoughts while I’m driving. I just wish I could do that from within the Day One app.
  • Not what is used to be

They have gotten greedy with steep subscription pricing and forcing users to use their servers. Right now other apps have stepped up that are comparable, better and more secure.
  • Best app on the App Store

I am so thankful for this app. Been using it for several years and it’s an essential part of my daily app use. GET IT! So worth it!
  • Great App

This is I think the best journaling app I’ve ever seen. You can do a lot with this and it integrates from MacBook to iPhone pretty easy

    Great app. Love it
  • So far I like it...but one big issue

    By Siobi-Wan Kenobi
I have been only using it for about a day, but it’s motivated me to journal twice in less than 24 hours. This is serious for me, because I enjoy journaling, am supposed to do so in conjunction with some medical care I am receiving, but my handwriting isn’t legible anymore and this is the first app that really piqued my interest. I like the features of adding pix, tying in certain feeds, like your Twitter acct and your calendar, I like that it adds certain info like weather etc (as a person with an history degree, automatically adding that data seems important to me. If my journal ever has historical value (lol) I like that what is on my mind is set to the background of my local and environment.) So far, I am giving it four stars because I haven’t used it long. This could go up or down I suppose. There is one way it could go down: MY BIG THING IS THIS: I’m considering seriously trying the pro-version. However, since it’s a yearly purchase (a yearly subscription correct?) a three-day trial seems inadequate. Even if I journal more than once a day over three days, I’m not sure I’d know if I want to subscribe. Also, that’s a tight timeline for someone coping with several illnesses. Including migraine. One bad migraine during a three day trial and I will have not used the trial at all, and I’ll be out the yearly subscription. CONSIDER EXTENDING THE TIME OF THE FREE TRIAL TO A MONTH A LEAST, and I will seriously consider it. It seems the Pro/Paid version has a lot to offer. I’ve never subscribed to any app before, never considered it. But I can’t consider a yearly subscription after only a three day trial.
  • Good app

Really enjoying this app especially now that I’ve subscribed and can include photos. I only have one wish for this app right now and it’s that the original date stamp wouldn’t change if you go back to add photos.
  • Frequent crashes

This is a great app although recently having upgrade to a iPhone 8+ I have frequent blank screen when I try to open the app. So that’s where I have to delete the app and restore after reinstalling. I have it synced to my iCloud and also use my iPad to add entry’s and they are just fine no problems there. Other than that it’s good for entry and keeping up with my journal.
  • Service Restored

Edit: I rated this app pretty badly previously, and at the time, I felt that it was very warranted. A new “major” release had come out and much of the now called “Plus” features were not available to purchasers of the 2.0 app. These issues have been resolved for some time. I am boosting my rating back up to 5 stars. Also, the developers have been releasing steady fixes for the past few months and I have felt much better resuming use of Day One’s services. I still miss the Dropbox support from the old 1.0 version, but the new sync has been working well and having auto-backups is a nice reassurance that my data won’t be lost.

Worked nicely for about 10 days but now it’s stuck on 3/13/18 @ 03:03 and I can not get it to go back to next journal entry no matter what I do. WT F is wrong with this app?
