Description

TripScout helps you discover the world like never before and has been named as a top travel app by USA Today, Travel & Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Forbes, and more! We curate the best recommendations from local experts and provide trip-planning tools to personalize your travel experience. Our app provides insider tips that you won’t find in guidebooks. We teach you about a place’s culture, and ensure you uncover all of a city’s hidden gems – from a grandma running a restaurant out of her house, to a hidden speakeasy bar, to street art that helped inspire a revolution. Experience where chefs eat, where bartenders drink, and where baristas meet for coffee. Learn about a city’s iconic sites, wander around the coolest neighborhoods, and find vantage points only photographers know about. Our app works completely offline and has engaging podcast-style audio guides from locals in many of our cities. There are fascinating stories all around us. We just have to know where to look. -- Check out our offline maps, audio tours, and mobile travel guides in nearly 100 cities! -- “Helps travelers explore the local side of the city” - USA Today “This is basically the best thing ever for tourists.” - Conde Nast Traveler "Finally, a travel app that’s purposefully, blissfully simple” - Travel+Leisure Our mobile travel guides and tours are available in nearly 100 cities throughout USA, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America: Washington DC, New York City, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans, Austin, Portland, Seattle, San Diego, Denver, Charleston, Dallas, Phoenix, Charlotte, Nashville, Toronto, Havana, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Bogota, Antigua, Granada, Panama City, Rio de Janeiro, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Venice, Reykjavik, Iceland, Madrid, Paris, London, Dublin, Brussels, Tbilisi, Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Krakow, Budapest, Prague, Rome, Florence, Vienna, Athens, Dubai, Istanbul, Oslo, Cairo, Cape Town, Tunis, Alexandria, Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Tokyo, Luang Prabang, Bali, Hanoi, Saigon, Beijing, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, Seoul, Sydney, and more!

TripScout turns hours of research into minutes for anyone accustomed to doing lots of planning in order to truly experience a travel destination. I use their guides as the primary source for acclimating myself to any new place I visit!

Would like to download a particular city... paid for it but it won’t let us. Call iTunes/App Store and 50 min later they refunded us our money. Went to try and purchase it again and it won’t let us! Would have contacted this app directly but now way to contact them. Please fix this problem. It looks like it would have been a good app.

I have only used this for Iceland. I was expecting much more detail. This seems to only cover the major landmarks and destinations, leaving out many other significant points of interest. The information on each place is very limited with only one picture provided and a short description. For $9.99 I was expecting a lot more information and details. I wish I could have my money back because this is useless to me. I’ll just stick to trip advisor and my Lonely Planet book which actually has useful details to guide me along my trip and cost about the same.

Says it’s free with in-app purchases. But you can’t do anything for free except look at all the tours you then have to buy. No free sample tours or preview. You have to immediately pay $5 or more and hope the city tour is good. And the city I wanted had no audio included which isn’t as useful if you want to explore the city.

I can only speak to the Iceland guide. I bought the app as part of my trip planning and thought it would be helpful for navigation. I found the content had a lot of gaps and felt kind of random. Sites that were included linked to nonexistent third party content. Ended up using google maps for both content (checking out reviews and posted pics) and navigation as cell/data service was fine. Cross referenced stuff using trip advisor and created starred places and was good to go.

I love this app because it shows exactly where so many cool spots are that I would never have found by myself. The map is also super easy to use. I bought a map for my most recent vacation and I’m glad I did because it definitely made my trip more memorable
